Whether you’re interested in looking at modified cars or if you have one to show off, you’ll want to know where the best modified car shows in the UK are being held this year.

Early season events

There’s no better time to get out than the summer and the sunshine presents modified cars in their best light, but modified car shows happen all year around. Dubfreeze, which is held at the County Showground in Stafford, is a highlight of the first few months of the year, as is Ultimate Dubs, which is held at the Telford International Centre in March. Both are for owners of modified Volkswagens, so you might pick up a few ideas if modding VWs is your thing. Ford Only Day at Beaulieu Motor Museum is another early season highlight, but you really have to wait for the summer months if you’re interested in going to the nation’s top modified car shows.

Modified Live

If you’re interested in seeing modified cars in action, then Modified Live’s series of shows are worth a look. They run shows at some of the UK’s best motor racing venues includung Brands Hatch in Kent, Knockhill in Scotland and Snetterton in Norfolk. You’ll get lots of tired-screaming, smoke producing modified action, and more powerslides than an episode of Top Gear from some of the country’s most extreme modified machinery.

Ultimate Street Car

Ultimate Street Car, which is held at Santa Pods Raceway each August, advertises itself as the largest and loudest modified car show in the country. As Santa Pods is a dragstrip, you’ll get the chance to test your own car’s speed during the weekend as well as enjoying music from live acts and trade stands representing some of the top tuning firms in the UK.

Modified Nationals

Peterborough Arena is the venue for the Modified Nationals which takes place every May. This is the UK’s biggest indoor and outdoor modified car show that’s full of entertainment and great exhibits. You’ll also find around 2,000 car clubs represented here.

Modified Mania

Drivers with tricked-up cars in Devon should head along to Modified Mania each July. You’ll find lots of local car clubs in attendance at the Smeatharpe stadium where banger car and other forms of oval track racing normally take place each week. For this weekend in July, the track plays host to drift competitions and motorcycle stunt display teams.
